Floriculture English/Spanish CD

Do you have Spanish speaking workers? Can you communicate with your Latino employees? Even if you are taking a formal Spanish class, your books and tapes probably don't cover the terminology used in floriculture. Now, through OSU Extension, you can buy a collection of common words and phrases used in floriculture.

Spanish for Greenhouse Supervisors is a collection of common words in English and Spanish used in the floriculture industry. It includes practical sentences using some of the common words used in the floriculture workplace designed for workers who are new to floriculture. It is NOT meant to be comprehensive. It is not a grammar text. It is not meant to replace any other formal means of learning Spanish. It is a supplement that complements traditional learning programs.

Spanish for Greenhouse Supervisors can be a lifesaver for any greenhouse grower who unexpectedly supervises Spanish speaking workers without ever having had any formal Spanish language training.

The text is divided into sections. Each section corresponds with a CD track making it easy to find words and sentences of interest. It is suggested that the user first locates the word of interest in the text and then listenes the pronunciation of that word in the corresponding track of the CD.

It is hoped these materials will help greenhouse supervisors and growers to improve communication, hence productivity, and reduce frustrations due to poor communication.
