The Department of Horticulture and Crop Science at the Ohio State University has a new Chairman: Dr. Stephen C. Myers. Native of South Carolina, Dr. Myers received a B.S. and M.S. from Clemson University. He then came to the Ohio State University and received a Ph.D. in Horticulture with Dr. Ferree as his major professor. In 1981, he moved to Georgia as an Assistant Professor where he became full professor in 1994. The same year, he was chosen as Head of the Department of Horticulture at the University of Arkansas. Dr. Myers has had a prolific career as Faculty with numerous publications, both scientific and extension. He will start as the new Chairman on September 1st, 1999. You will hear from him soon.
