Calendar of Events


Poinsettia open houses. This year, the open houses to evaluate the cultivars will be later. Mark your calendars now! Five growers are growing 50 cultivars from four poinsettia breeders: Dummen, Ecke Ranch, Fischer, HMA and Oglevee. Ohio growers will hold open house for you to evaluate the plants on the following dates:

  • Bowling Green,12/6 Bostordff's
  • Toledo, 12/6 Krueger's
  • Medina, 12/7 Barco's
  • Columbus, 12/10 Dill's
  • Cincinnati, 12/11 Dieffenbacher's

All open houses will take place from 1:00 PM to3:30 PM except for Bowling Green, open from 9:00 to 12:00 Noon. For more information contact Dr. Claudio Pasian: 614-292-9941.

Pesticide Applicator Training. January 2, 2002, Joanne Kick-Raack, Extension Coordinator, will give a 1 hour presentation on pesticide rules and regs, including updates on pesticides - use, storage, record keeping, etc. One hour of Core pesticide recertification credits (commercial & private) will be given. The evening program will be held at a Cincinnati Flower Growers' Assn meeting. Time & location TBA
