WPS Test -- Part II.
This quiz was prepared by the Society of American Florists (SAF) for you and is reprinted with SAF permission. This test is difficult - as is the real inspection. Note: In answering the following questions, you are to assume that each question applies to pesticide applications in a greenhouse (rather than to pesticide applications in an open field).
1) Once the pesticide application is complete, early- entry workers can re-enter the treated area:
- A. At any time.
- B. Only after the Restricted Entry Interval has expired.
- C. Early-entry workers can re-enter the treated area 4 hours after the application and before the Restricted Entry Interval has expired, to perform certain short-term activities, so long as they have been trained as early- entry workers, wear appropriate personal protective equipment, have no contact with the pesticide-treated surfaces, and the inhalation/ventilation criteria of the WPS regulations have been met.
- D. Early-entry workers can re-enter the treated area 4 hours after the application and before the Restricted Entry Interval has expired, to perform certain short-term activities, so long as they have been trained as early- entry workers, wear appropriate personal protective equipment, have no contact with the pesticide-treated surfaces, and the sprays have dried and dust has settled.
2) The employer must notify workers of any pesticide application in the greenhouse as follows:
- A. The employer must post warning signs in accordance with the criteria of the WPS regulations.
- B. If the label requires it, the employer must also orally notify workers about the application.
- C. Employers do not need to notify workers orally about an application if they can be sure that workers will not enter, work in, remain in, or pass through the greenhouse.
- D. All of the above are true.
