OSU SEED BIOLOGY &
TECHNOLOGY CONFERENCE

The Ohio State University Seed Biology and Technology Conference will be held July 9 and 10, 1998 on The Ohio State University (OSU) campus, Columbus, Ohio. The Conference is co-sponsored by members of the Department of Horticulture and Crop Science's Seed Biology Program and The Ohio State University Extension.

The two-day conference will benefit horticultural crop producers as well as professionals involved in seed technology, research and quality improvement. The goal of the Conference is to provide participants with applied information and practical training pertinent to their interest in seed quality and technology.

Several hands-on workshops will focus on methods for evaluating seed health, techniques for enhancing seed performance, germination and seed vigor testing, and genetic purity identification. The Conference also includes presentations by invited speakers from the public and private sectors who will address a range of current seed science and technology issues and concerns.

Conference enrollment is limited to allow adequate participant interaction and discussion, so early registration is encouraged. Additional details and Conference registration information can be obtained by accessing the OSU Seed Biology Web Site: http://www.ag.ohio-state.edu/~seedbio or by contacting: Dr. David James, Extension Seed Biologist, Department of Horticulture and Crop Science, 220 Kottman Hall, 2021 Coffey Road, Columbus, Ohio 43210.
