Here is some info on the recently accepted Florel label. It is not in print yet, but is anticipated sometime this year.
A new label for Florel should soon be ready for greenhouse operators in the U.S. The rewritten label has broad spectrum application for both greenhouse and outdoor grown floricultural crops. Growers will finally be allowed to use Florel on any floriculture crop with the exception of edible crops such as vegetables and herbs. An excerpt from the new label follows.
"A foliar spray of FlorelŪ Brand Growth Regulator can be used to increase lateral branching, prevent flower initiation and development, and inhibit internode elongation on a wide range of floricultural crops. These include, but are not limited to: Azalea, Begonia, Chrysanthemum, Fuchsia, Zonal and Ivy Geranium, Impatiens, English ivy, Lantana, Petunia, Poinsettia, Verbena, and Vinca vine (Vinca major). FlorelŪ Brand Growth Regulator has not been tested on all floricultural crops and varieties. If it is necessary to treat plants not listed above, treat only a small area using the lower rate of application to determine the effectiveness of the product."
The new label gives growers the responsibility of trialing Florel on a small scale and then working it into wide scale production. This allows growers to experiment and make decisions based on their growing conditions and preferences. Until the new label finds its way into the distribution channels remember that the present label should be followed.
