Pesticide Applicator Testing

The Ohio Department of Agriculture (ODA) is beginning a policy of pre-registering any individual wanting to take pesticide licensing tests. This includes both commercial and private applicators. ODA provides the following new registration procedures:

1. Applicators wishing to take the test need to contact ODA by phone (1-800-282-1955) . The applicator needs to give: name, address, phone, category tests be taken, location and date.

OR

2. Agents can submit lists of names of applicators taking the test (with the above information) by e-mailing Diana Roll at: roll@odant.agri.state.oh.us

Walk-ins will still be accepted at testing sites but will test later, or not at all if the room is full.

The OSU Pesticide Applicator Training agent advisory committee will meet with ODA this summer regarding proposed ODA policy/procedure changes. They want to hear from you about what works and what doesn't in both recertification and testing processes for the counties.

Please contact Joanne Kick-Raack (kick-raack.1@osu.edu) with your feedback. Also, the OSUE Pesticide Training Program is working on making registration available through the website http://pested.osu.edu so that people can register outside normal business hours.
