New Growth Regulator for Lilies FascinationTM is a new product from Valent USA Corp. The product is a combination of two naturally occurring plant growth regulators: Gibberellin 4 and 7 plus the Cytokinin 6-benzyladenine. This combination provides lily growers with a new tool for more presentable and marketable Easter, Oriental and LA hybrid lilies. When sprayed properly and uniformly, early applications of Fascination can protect plants from lower-leaf yellowing for up to three weeks. Later in the season, this combination of growth regulators can help delay flower senescence by promoting plant growth and initiating flowering before shipping or cooler storage. No special equipment is needed but care must be used in measuring, diluting, and applying Fascination because it is an extremely active growth regulator. Uniform application to target leaves is critical because the product does not move systematically within the plant. For optimum results on Easter lilies, up to three applications are recommended. To determine optimum use rates conduct trials on a small number of plants under actual use conditions using the lowest recommended rate. Easter and LA Hybrid lilies: The product can be applied to these crops to decrease yellowing and necrosis of lower leaves and delay flower senescence.
