Ohio Pesticide Disposal ProgramThe following information was provided by Larry Berger from the Ohio Department of Agriculture. The Pesticide Disposal Program of Ohio has been very successful in giving Ohioans the opportunity to dispose of unwanted pesticides in an inexpensive and convenient way. With the number of collections held since 1993, collecting an estimated 1,170,322 pounds, the program has gone a long way in cleaning up the state. The amounts remaining in the counties do not justify going into each county in the project's original form, however, there is always going to be a need for the program so we are going to statewide program. Anyone needing to dispose pesticides has to fill a form and send it to the address provided in the form. If anybody has doubts about what is acceptable, write the information on the form and Mr. Berger, after sorting the forms, will make contact if he has any questions. A statewide database will be kept and collections will be scheduled as quantities are identified. Attempts to accommodate everybody withing six months of receiving the registration form will be made. Only preregistered pesticides will be accepted. If you have any questions or if you want copies of the form, please contact Mr. Larry Berger at 614-728-6392. ALL INFORMATION WILL BE KEPT CONFIDENTIAL. |
