MITICIDE/INSECTICIDE

Now registered in Ohio

Carzol SP is now registered in the state of Ohio for control of western flower thrips on greenhouse ornamental plants. Carzol SP is a restricted use pesticide with a 48 hour restricted entry interval - it's pretty hot stuff. The new supplemental labeling must be in the possession of the user when Carzol is being applied.

Does it control western flower thrips? Yes, it's pretty good and it gives growers another chemical (class: formamidines) to add to their rotation. The 48 hour R.E.I. may cause some inconvenience, but most growers can work around these restrictions by applying on a Friday, etc. If you have any questions, please contact Dr. R. Lindquist at 330-263-3736.
