Greenhouse Engineering Workshop - Wooster, Ohio

The Ohio State University (OSU) and USDA/ARS are co-sponsoring a 2-day workshop that will address pesticide application issues for greenhouse plant production. The workshop will be held on 2/26-27/2003 at Wooster, OH. Major subjects to be covered in this workshop include: 1) Pest prevention using environmental control methods, cultural techniques, biopesticides, and beneficials, 2) effective chemistry of pesticides, adjuvants, and growth regulators, and 3) evaluation of delivery techniques for conventional pesticides, biopesticides, and natural enemies.

The format of the workshop is designed to encourage active participation. Hands-on sessions will provide learn-by-doing exercises in laboratories and greenhouses to re-enforce learning of topics covered in presentations. Commercial exhibits and short industry product updates will be provided by a number of leading industrial partners throughout the workshop. The workshop registration will be limited to 80 to enhance effective hands-on learning experience.

Tours of Ohio Agriculture Research and Development Center (OARDC) research greenhouses and engineering laboratories will provide opportunities to learn modern technologies and emerging technologies for our greenhouse industry.
