Greenhouse Engineering Workshop – energy management

Date: January 31- February 1, 2006

Workshop description

The workshop is designed to provide the latest information on energy management for efficient greenhouse heating operations. Major topics to be included are: energy conservation, heat delivery, new boiler technologies, alternative fuels, and management strategies to increase greenhouse profitability. Information will be delivered through presentations and interactive “Ask the experts” sessions to address general and specific needs of the workshop participants.

Dr. David Mears, Professor II, Rutgers University. Energy conservation and alternative energy for controlled environment plant production.

Mr. Kurt Parbst, President, Ludvig Svensson Inc. How to select energy curtain and tips for effective operations.

Dr. Claudio Pasian, Associate Professor, OSU/OSUE. Horticultural considerations to improve crop production including crop selection, growing under lower temperatures, with a special discussion on effects of using elevated CO2 to improve plant growth.

Registration

Early Bird Fee: $100 on or before January 23, 2006.

Regular Fee: $120 after January 23, 2006

(Fees include lunches on Tuesday and Wednesday)

Tuesday dinner: $15.00 includes tax and gratuity. Meal not included in registration fee.
