WPS Test -- Part I.

This test is difficult - as is the real inspection. The test was designed for owners or managers.

In answering the following questions, assume that each question applies to pesticide applications in a greenhouse (rather than to pesticide applications in an open field).

1) If I am applying pesticide to plants in just one area of a greenhouse, workers (other than the pesticide handlers) can be in the greenhouse as follows:

• A. During the application workers can be in any part of the greenhouse, even in the area being treated with pesticide.
• B. Depending upon whether the pesticide is applied as a fumigant, an aerosol, a fog, a spray, or some other way, different restrictions apply. Workers can never be in the treated area during application, but in some cases, they can be in other parts of the greenhouse even during application.
• C. Workers can be in the treated area during application if they are wearing personal protective equipment.
• D. Workers can be in the treated area during application if they are wearing personal protective equipment and do not contact the plants.
• E. None of the above.

2) Who is legally responsible for making sure that the workers have the required personal protective equipment?

• A. The employer.
• B. The State EPA.
• C. The worker.
• D. The farm workers' union.
• E. The company human resources supervisor.
